And yet 800 million people go to bed hungry every night. Closer to home, the cost of living crisis is still affecting millions of families in the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if you\u2019ve ever thought about volunteering in your spare time, but never got around to it, this is your chance to get started and make a real difference in your community!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re launching a one month long competition with some super exciting prizes up for grabs. We\u2019re talking <strong>a whole month\u2019s worth of free groceries, or \u00a3500 (<strong>\u20ac<\/strong>500 in Ireland) towards an e-bike!<\/strong> \ud83e\udd29<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to enter<\/strong>&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"text-highlight\"><strong>Never volunteered with us before? <\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a wonderful team of over 116,000 volunteers who rescue unsold food from local businesses and share it with their community to help fight waste, save our planet, and support local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Complete your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/olioapp.com\/en\/become-an-olio-volunteer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Food Waste Hero registration<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and claim an Olio volunteering slot this month to be in with a chance of winning our amazing prizes. You can find this in the Olio app by clicking on the burger menu in the top right-hand corner, clicking on \u2018Account\u2019 and scrolling down to see your User ID. You&#8217;ll need this for Step 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong><br>The people you refer will need to fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/olio1.typeform.com\/to\/ATzol0cD\">this super quick form<\/a>. They\u2019ll need your User ID to complete this so that we know who\u2019s referred them, and to make you both eligible to win the prize draw.
