The correct answer is…. True!

Food waste is responsible for around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions 🌍🔥

That’s right – when food is produced but never eaten, all the energy, water, land and transport that went into it still counts… and it releases greenhouse gases like methane and carbon dioxide along the way. So food waste isn’t just about binning good food – it’s also a big climate issue.

Put another way: if food waste were a country, it would be the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world – after the USA and China 💨

It’s a pretty gut-punch statistic.

But it’s also a reminder of why small actions matter. Every time someone shares spare food instead of binning it, they’re not just helping a neighbour – they’re helping cut waste, save resources, and reduce emissions too.

Thank you for always choosing to share more and waste less 🙌
