Please read carefully:

In most cases, the allergen information of a product will be labelled on the product itself.

  • If you need to know what’s in a product, ask the volunteer who listed it to send you a picture of the allergen information via the app.
  • If the volunteer doesn’t have that information, you can find it by searching the name of the business the food was donated by in the list below.
  • If you don’t know which business donated the food, ask the volunteer.

Although we encourage our volunteers to take all reasonable steps to keep different foods separate, it’s not always possible and we can’t guarantee any item is allergen free, especially bakery and buffet items.

If you can’t find the business you’re looking for in the list below, or to report any other issue with allergen information, please use the in-app Help Centre to share your feedback.

For more information, you can visit our FAQ on General Allergen Information.

All products are handled in our in-store kitchen where many allergens are used. We therefore cannot guarantee products are free from additional allergens. Plant based products are made to a plant based recipe but are not suitable for those with milk or egg allergies.

Due to the way loose bakery products are made and displayed in store, we can’t guarantee they won’t contain small amounts of ingredients that we may be unaware of.

You can download the latest list of loose bakery products and their known allergen ingredients below, but be aware that vegan and vegetarian suitability and exact ingredients may change. Do not rely solely on information from this website before eating any of these products.

We make our dishes fresh on site, so cannot guarantee
that there will be no cross-contamination. All dishes may contain traces of nuts.

Please note that Costa Coffee products that have been taken out of their original packaging and displayed among other food types are at risk of cross contamination. Different food types within the display cabinet and throughout the store may come into contact with other products during display, therefore, Costa Coffee cannot guarantee that these products are allergen free.

As our food is freshly made by hand in our kitchens, we can’t guarantee that anything is allergen-free. Visit our website for allergen information.

Please note everything is made and baked in a kitchen that handles cereals containing gluten, nuts, peanuts, sesame and soybeans. We cannot guarantee that they are free from traces of these allergens. We bake everything on shared equipment in our kitchen, where we process all of the above-listed allergens. If you or the person you are buying for has a severe allergy, please know that while we do our best to prevent cross-contamination, we are not an allergy-free bakery.  For further information in regards to ingredients or allergies please contact us.

Some of our products contain nuts and/or peanuts. We therefore do not recommend any of our products to people with a nut or peanut allergy.

Some of our cookies and muffins are not suitable for vegetarians and none of our products are suitable for vegans. Some of the icings and toppings contain artificial colours which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.

When it comes to products made in our stores, there may be a risk of possible cross contamination due to products being prepared in an open environment. Therefore, we advise shoppers with allergies to avoid all of the products that are sold from our in store bakery, deli counter, hot food counter, fresh meat and fresh fish counter, Sainsbury’s cafés and our self-service salad bar.

Food safety is our top priority and we understand the dangers to those who suffer with allergies.

For every dish we produce we provide a full declaration of ingredients and all allergens are highlighted in bold. Fooditude are fully committed to reducing that risk to our clients and staff, we ensure that our team have received the training they need to understand the importance of handling allergens carefully and avoiding cross-contamination in the kitchen
and front of house.
While we take the upmost care to strictly manage allergen cross-contamination with our suppliers, our kitchen and front of house operations, and as all 14 food allergens are handled in our central open-plan production kitchen, and by the very nature of allergens there is a small risk that traces of these may be found in other dishes served here.

The Allergen Information below shows the allergens containing and may contain within a product, including any nominated substitute ingredients. Although strict cleaning procedures are followed to reduce potential cross contamination, due to the bakery environment, the kitchen and open displays, we cannot guarantee that all these products are free from any allergens.
