Meet the new look Olio
Today, we’re excited to launch Olio’s new look. Here’s the story behind the changes we’re making, and why.
Alongside this shiny new website, you’ll notice updates across our app, socials and more over the coming weeks and months.
Why are we doing this?
Olio’s mission has never been more urgent: ending waste to solve the climate crisis, one share at a time.
To drive the change we all want to see, we need to inspire millions more worldwide with our message to share your spare and do your bit — for our local communities, and for our planet.
That’s why we’ve made some much-needed changes to how the Olio brand looks, feels and communicates.
Thank you to the many members of the Olio community and our Brand Advisor group who inputted into the process and helped shape the final outcome. We hope you love it as much as we do!
The act of sharing: the logo
Our new logo captures the heart of Olio:
- The act of sharing (the handover between ‘i’ and ‘l’)
- The spirit of reuse (the tittle on the ‘i’ is lifted from the ‘o’)
- The circular economy (we begin and end with a circle)
The bold typography speaks to our bold ambition: to change how the world consumes. And the move to lower case letters feels friendlier and less intimidating to those who are looking to make their first steps towards a sustainable way of living.
Urgent optimism: the colours
Our colour palette is inspired by how our brand shows up in the world: with urgent optimism.
We’ve consciously moved away from green as our core colour, because Olio is more than just a sustainability app fighting waste. Olio is a movement for optimism. And it’s for everyone — even for people yet to take their first steps on a journey to living a more sustainable life.
Transformation: the gradient
The gradient represents the idea of transformation.
Sharing is a human superpower — one that can change us as individuals, and transform our communities and planet. There’s a magical feel-good factor when people come together to share.
We believe in the transformative power of giving and sharing.
The big vision
We all have the power to solve the climate crisis — by sharing more, and wasting less.
Our vision is for a brand new model of consumption: one where when we want or need something, the first thing we do is utilise the resources that already exist in our local communities.
Through simple, everyday actions, each of us can make a difference.
