Key highlights from the webinar:

🛍️ Building a One Stop Shop
We’re making great progress towards creating a surplus food redistribution One Stop Shop for businesses – combining discounted food, charity redistribution, and community redistribution via our Food Waste Heroes programme.

🥶 Addressing Reduced Food challenges
Reduced Food has now launched nationwide in partnership with Iceland. We’re aware of some early teething issues (e.g. items shown in the app not being available in-store) and are working closely with Iceland to resolve them quickly.

🎁 Lucky Dip nationwide rollout coming soon
Think Too Good To Go “Surprise Bags” – but better value, with payment taken in-store. After successful trials, Lucky Dip bags will roll out across Iceland stores nationwide later this month, with trials at independent shops already underway too.

🥦 Boosting free food via the Food Waste Heroes programme
We know some of you are worried that Reduced Food and Lucky Dip might reduce the amount of free food available. The opposite is true! By offering Food Waste Heroes as a bolt-on service to retailers using these features, we’ll unlock even more free food long term.

♻️ Save Me Collections making an impact
To prevent waste from unclaimed slots, we introduced Save Me Collections, where Food Waste Heroes can keep what they like. And it’s working: of the ~5k Save Me Collections claimed weekly, ~88% of the food is eaten by households or shared, with just 12% going to compost, recycling, or waste.

🍴 Claiming catering collections
Catering collections include top-quality, chef-prepared food. To access them, make sure you’ve completed the additional training module that covers safe sharing of cooked food.

Improving food safety
We’ve simplified the rules for catered food sharing and refreshed the Food Waste Hero training – now shorter, more engaging, and with far fewer drop-outs (down from 21% to just 6%).

🔒 Preventing scams
Scams are now down to just 0.01% of all listings, thanks to ongoing behind-the-scenes work. We also shared 6 top tips for staying safe – because vigilance from the community is still essential.

⚖️ Fairer Food Waste Heroes suspensions policy
We’ve introduced a more balanced approach: supportive for first-time or one-off mistakes, but tougher on repeat offences.

💚 We’ll be publishing updated FAQs to cover the most popular questions from this session as usual.

We’d also love your feedback so we can make these webinars even better. Please take 3 minutes to fill out our short survey below.

Thanks again for being part of the Olio community – together we’re making a huge difference!
